Seasonal Part Time Food and Beverage Bartender

Under immediate supervision, performs various duties in connection with scheduled events, skilled and unskilled job tasks as assigned with the El Paso Convention & Performing Arts Center. This seasonal position will work from hire date to October 31, 2020.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water and sugar to prepare cocktails and other drinks; ensures beverages are prepared according to company recipes.
• Serves wine, liquor, draft or bottled beer and food to barguests following established company procedures to ensure that the financial transaction is correct and reflects all charges
• Possess proficient knowledge of the menu in order to explain our offerings to the Guests, inform them of current food promotions and special sand answer any questions.
• Serves beverages in a timely accurate manner.
• Ensure a clean and well-stocked bar.
• Performs shift change and/or opening or closing duties.
• To include but not limited to setting up bar areas and inventory control.
• Cash handling, accounting, and administrative sales records filled out properly and completely
• Cleaning and removal of bars and related materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• At least 2 years’ experience as a bartender at a restaurant or like venue.
• Ability to operate POS, make change and accurately conduct credit card transactions and account for all monies at the end of each shift.
• Follow oral and written instruction and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
• Remain flexible and adjust to situation as they occur.
• Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, patrons, employees, exhibitors and others
encountered in the course of employment.
• Convey strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to obtain TABC and Food Handler’s card within 30 days of hire date.
• High school diploma or GED; and at least (2) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
