IT Manager
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains information technology strategies
- Researches and implements technological strategic solutions
- Accomplishes information technology staff results
- Initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies and procedures.
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment
- Maintains organizations effectiveness and efficiency by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing information technologies
- Directs technological research by studying organizational goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
- Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
- Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
- Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes.
- Identified problems and evaluates trends.
- Conducts routine evaluations of network and data security.
- Performing routine system audits.
- Implements and updates facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments.
- Ensures that IT-Operations Department receives pertinent information for the most effective use of the facility and staffing
- Assures the coordination, implementation and administration of specific plans and programs prescribed by corporate directives, to include: maintain high-standards for guest services, employee training and development, quality assurance, energy efficiency, safety/emergency procedures, crowd control and crisis management procedures, or other areas as required.
- Knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
- Understands performance measures as outlined in the terms of ASM Management deliverables Agreements with client/city.
Client/Event Services:
- Assist clients in determining their internet and phone needs; provide cost estimates to clients for custom installations.
- Plan, implement, install and support client network wiring, internet access and VoIP requirements
- Assists clients with programming their equipment for the Internet access
- Monitor show exhibitor’s IT orders and plan, implement, install and support network wiring, internet access and VoIP
- Provides billing statement information to the Accounting Department
- Maintain, support and troubleshoot:
- Building network hardware and cabling (including twisted pair cabling and Fiber Optics)
- Client IT rental equipment
- VoIP software and equipment
Administrative office support:
- Maintain, support and troubleshoot:
- Network cabling (both twisted pair and Fiber)
- Network servers
- Desktop and portable computers
- Printers
- Data backup
- Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Outlook, and remote network access
- Security software, including anti-spam and anti-virus
- Secure and open wireless network hardware and interface
- Mobile phone & CDMA push-to-talk/Direct Connect communication system
- CCTV security camera system
- Support ASM staff on software application
- Interface with software and hardware vendor’s IT support
- Implement and enforce protocols for staff technology usage
- Identification and implementation of other software applications to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Identification and implementation of hardware opportunities to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Maintain an asset inventory for computer equipment
- Maintain a log of all service issues
- Maintains information technology strategies
- Researches and implements technological strategic solutions

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer information science
Minimum of 5 or more years related IT work experience

- Strong computer knowledge
- Technical understanding and management skills

- Data Center management
- Strong organization, supervisory, communication, and writing skills
- Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, computer proficiency, typing, and ability to learn specialized computer software as needed
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in computer networking software, hardware and cabling installation and support
Proficient in both twisted pair cabling and Fiber Optic networking
Proficient in VoIP technology applications, installation and support
Proficient in wireless technology applications and interface
Proficient in Windows based software, including Server, Office and Exchange
Proficient in software security, including anti-spam and anti-virus
Proficient in terminology used in the telecommunications field
Knowledge of Android capabilities and support
Knowledge of database software applications
Read exhibitor blue prints for internet and phone connections
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk extensively, occasionally required to kneel, climb to high walkways or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires work inside and outside of the building and some exposure to adverse conditions.
