Viva El Paso Sets Auditions for March 26-28
EL PASO, TEXAS – Auditions for Viva! El Paso will be held over three days in late March.
ACTORS/SINGERS Tryouts will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 26-27, at the Chapin High School theater, 7000 Dyer. Actors should prepare a 90-second monologue of their choice. Singers should prepare a song and bring music (sheet music, flash drive or cellphone recording are acceptable). Accompaniment will be provided.
MARIACHI Auditions for violin, guitarron, guitar, vihuela, trumpet, flute, and vocals also will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 26-27, at the Chapin High School theater, 7000 Dyer. Musicians should bring their own instruments.
DANCERS Tryouts will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, in the Foundation Room, 333 N. Oregon (next to the Chase/Mills Plaza Parking Garage, across from San Jacinto Plaza). Check-in is at 8 a.m. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and shoes for movement. Choreography will be taught at the auditions.
Those auditioning need to bring a photo ID, Social Security card, a portrait-style headshot, and a resume of past performance/production work, including school information and work history. Those attending also should bring bottled water; and water and a snack (or lunch) for the dance tryouts. Performers must be 16 years of age or older. There is no fee to audition. Auditions are open to performers living in the El Paso area. Performers will be paid a stipend. Call 915-276-5681 for more information.
An El Paso tradition going into its 43rd year, Viva! El Paso celebrates more than 400 years of local history. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays June 19 - July 24 in McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. Ticket information will be announced soon. Viva!
