I N T R O D U C T I O N

I am pleased to present Destination El Paso’s Marketing Plan for the 2016-2017 fiscal

year. We feel this comprehensive plan compliments efforts undertaken in the past but

also provides framework for marketing El Paso’s renaissance and the unprecedented

growth our community is currently experiencing.

Visit El Paso will focus its time and efforts largely on reintroducing a variety of

individuals to include meeting planners, sports events rights holders, media

influencers to the new El Paso. The community they have experienced a few years

ago, if ever, has dramatically changed and will continue to do so as new assets come

online. As a part of our regional strategic planning effort, we are working closely with

our destination marketing peers from New Mexico and the state of Chihuahua. While

we have always been advocates of our cultural heritage and unique attractions, we

will explore a partnership with the County of El Paso to increase our involvement and

marketing efforts of the Historic Mission Trail, museums, galleries, historical markers

and buildings.

Our Film Commission, in conjunction with the state film office, will be undertaking

some impactful projects for the benefit of our community. Initiatives will include
