The Coolest Fest in the Southwest - WinterFest is Back for a Third Season

WinterFest, presented by The Hospitals of Providence and Providence Children’s Hospital is opening for a third season creating fun and holiday experience for El Paso and its visitors from on November 18, 2018 through January 6, 2019, with a soft opening of the ice rink on Saturday, November 17.

Downtown’s Arts Festival Plaza and El Paso Live will once again host The Hospitals of Providence Ice Skating Rink, Providence Children’s Hospital Life-Size Snow Globe, El Paso Electric’s WinterFest Tree, Texas Gas Service’s Warming Tent and Mini Donut Depot’s Holiday Cafe. The skating rink and major features will be open seven days a week starting on November 17.

WinterFest is FREE to SEE and $8 to SKATE. Skate passes are only $8 for 50 minutes of skating with ice skate rentals included. Skate passes for Military, Teachers and First-Responders are $7, and $5 for children 5 and under. Metro by T-Mobile customers with valid Metro by T- Mobile phones will receive $2 off general admission.

Weekly promotions during WinterFest include “Military Mondays,” kicking off each week with half price on general admission skate passes for Military adults ($4.00) and Military Kids ($2.50) age five and under with a valid Military I.D.

“Chico’s Tiny Tuesdays” takes place every Tuesday and features two mini 25-minute sessions for children ages five and under for only $2. Parents, older children or guardians may skate with the “chico” child for only $5. Staff will be onsite to help ensure children are skating cautiously and kid-friendly.

Donate a warm clothing item on “Warm Wednesdays” and receive $2 off skating (discount valid only for general admission or Hero Admissions). Elementary through college students who bring a school I.D. or wear school attire (t-shirt, sweatshirt, etc.) on “Student Thursdays” receive $2 off skating. Every Friday is a party at the rink for Fiesta Fridays with special entertainment.

Texas Gas Services presents FREE Holiday Movies at the Plaza Theatre which will warm the hearts of both young and old inside the Plaza Theatre on select Sundays, November 18 through January 6, in partnership with The El Paso Community Foundation, Plaza Classic Film Festival and El Paso Live. Free movies include: Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Polar Express, Miracle on 34th Street (1947), A Christmas Story, It’s a Wonderful Life, Frozen and Ice Age.
