Live music and entertainment continue to grow in popularity making 2017, a record-breaking year for the concert industry according to Pollstar, and two El Paso theatres were nationally ranked among the top.
Pollstar, a trade publication for concert industry professionals, announced its Worldwide rankings for the “Top 200 List” based on ticket sales attendance at Theatre Venues for 2017. The Plaza Theatre ranked in the top 100, landing a spot at number 81 with 103,973 attendees for the year. The Abraham Chavez Theatre placed at number 171 with 35,467 patrons.
Pollstar maintains the world’s largest database of international concert tour information and has the most reliable and accurate worldwide ticket sales results. All figures calculated were for tickets sold worldwide as reported to Pollstar for shows played from January 1 to December 31 of 2017.

The city-owned Plaza Theatre and Abraham Chavez Theatre are managed by the El Paso Live division of Destination El Paso. Other venues managed by El Paso Live the include the Philanthropy Theatre, Cohen Stadium, the El Paso Convention Center, the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre and the Arts Festival Plaza.
