The Eighteenth Annual Aging to Perfection Expo returns to the El Paso Convention Center on Tuesday, September 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free to the public and will feature approximately 80 booths offering health screenings, social and medical services, and other services and products designed to enhance the lives of older adults, family caregivers and adult children caring for aging parents.
The focus of the Expo is to increase community awareness of available resources for older adults and family caregivers, that will enhance quality of life, promote independence and encourage us to age well. There will also be continuous entertainment featuring many of the active older adults in our community. The Aging to Perfection Expo is the largest event in the region catering to the older adult market with over 2,500 attendees every year.
Many unique and free services will be provided at this year’s Expo. The El Paso Fire Department is offering free Flu and Pneumonia vaccinations to adults. Complimentary health screenings will be available and include cholesterol, glucose, hearing, body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure.
Pedometers will be given to the first 500 attendees, encouraging participants to track their steps at the Expo. Participants reaching certain milestones in steps will be given the chance to win prizes. The City of El Paso Parks & Recreation Senior Division will provide a Health and Fitness Area to increase awareness of heathy lifestyle and fitness at any age.
Subject matter experts will be conducting educational sessions on topics important to older adults and their families. Topics will cover subjects on healthy aging and living well.
